Regardless of whether you transfer your savings to or from PensionDanmark, there is no charge to you.
But keep in mind that the company you are transferring money from or to may charge a fee for this.
The insurance and conditions for pension savings can vary considerably, so always remember to check what you have and what you will receive when deciding whether or not to transfer your pension savings.
Check the following:
Insurance:
Your insurance cover will stop when you transfer your savings, so check whether you are insured in the same or a better way when you transfer your pension savings to PensionDanmark.
Rate of return:
Do you currently have a minimum return rate guarantee? You will lose this guarantee when you transfer your savings.
Fees:
You do not pay a fee to PensionDanmark when you transfer your savings to us. Your current pension company may charge a fee in addition to investment expenses, but you will earn this money back because you will not have to pay for two pension schemes.
Do you have a flex job or receive a disability pension?
If so, it is not always an advantage to transfer your pension scheme. Give us a call and we will help you decide whether this makes sense for you.
If you change jobs
At PensionDanmark, we do not charge fees or costs when you transfer your savings. But a new job always offers a good opportunity to combine your pension savings.
If it is less than three years since you started your new job, the other company can transfer your savings for a fee – but without additional costs.
If it has been more than three years since you switched jobs, you may be required pay both costs and fees to the other company.
Withdrawal penalty
In addition to a fee, you may also have to pay a so-called withdrawal penalty to some pension companies. This means that a percentage of your savings will be deducted when you transfer your savings. Your current pension company can inform you about whether they charge a withdrawal penalty and, if so, at what percentage.
No, you cannot transfer your pension savings with PensionDanmark to an ordinary savings account with a bank.
If you want to transfer your savings, they must be transferred to the pension scheme to which your employer makes contributions.
