Any questions?

You can:

  • receive a monthly amount in addition to the state payment
  • receive a tax-free lump sum if you retire on disability pension. It depends on your age
  • ensure that your pension savings continue to grow – we pay an amount in each month.

We will send you a letter in mit.dk once we have processed your application.

If you are entitled to a payout from your insurance, we will pay it into your Nemkonto.

If you are receiving a state disability or senior pension, you can apply to have an amount paid into your savings with us each month.

We look at what has been paid in on average in the past year. This means your savings will grow as they would if you were still working.

Contributions will stop when your disability or senior pension insurance stops. This will usually be three years before your state pension age.

If you receive a disability pension, you will automatically be registered for Supplementary Labour Market Pension Scheme. This is a scheme where you contribute small amounts yourself and Udbetaling Danmark pays the rest.

In 2024, you will have to pay DKK 198 each month, and Udbetaling Danmark will pay DKK 396 each month.

We also make contributions for you, so you will save as you did when you worked. We look at what has been paid to you on average in the last year, deduct Supplementary Labour Market Pension Scheme from this and pay the rest into your savings.

You can read more about Supplementary Labour Market Pension Scheme at lifeindenmark.borger.dk.

The insurance ends automatically three years before you reach your state pension age.

You can apply for supplementary disability pension from us if you have been awarded a state disability pension and are insured.

Most of our members have insurance which means they also receive a lump sum if they retire early.

You can only be paid the lump sum if you have less than six years to go before you reach your state pension age.

You cannot receive payouts, if:

  • you were awarded a disability pension or a senior pension before you became a member of PensionDanmark
  • you are awarded a disability or senior pension after your insurance has stopped
  • you start paying out the whole of both your lifetime pension and your annuity pension
  • you received another labour market pension after contributions to PensionDanmark stopped
  • you had the illness that is the reason for your disability or senior pension before you became a member of PensionDanmark, and your employer has paid pension contributions for a period of less than 12 months within the last four years.

Were you working in a flex job when you became a member of PensionDanmark? If so, we need to look into your case before we are able to decide whether money can be paid out from your insurance. This applies both if you are a new member or if you have savings from before.

Contact your bank if money is to be paid into a creditor-protected account. Your bank will decide whether you can open this account.

When your creditor-protected account has been created, you must contact us via our website and and provide your new account details - before applying for payment. We will send you a link via SMS so that you can log in to pension.dk and approve the account information with a digital signature
